Really nice day today. Got some good stuff done at work, took a long walk with a friend in the ecological reserve (which is maybe 1/2 mile from our house), and had a great dinner at a Middle Eastern restaurant. Food is one thing that's quite cheap here, and it's pretty affordable to eat out regularly, as long as we avoid the tourist joints. Entrees generally cost 1/2 to 2/3 what they do in the states, but portions are enormous and there are usually some sorts of appetizers included, so we can either get one entree and maybe an appetizer, or get two entrees and have lots of leftovers. Also it's really cheap to have stuff delivered from nearby restaurants -- you're generally expected to tip the equivalent of 50 cents. We're trying to live cheap, for sure -- out-of-control inflation has made Argentina more expensive than we hoped -- but we can afford to eat quite well :)
